Zeiss IOL Master
Zeiss IOL Master takes an axial-length measurement. An axial length measurement uses light to measurement of the physical length of the eye, from the front (cornea) to back (retina) with very high precision. Without Myopia Control treatment, the eye elongates as childhood myopia progresses. That elongation is one of the reasons why prescriptions become more nearsighted.
The measurement is:
- Non-contact
- Painless
- Takes only a few seconds
Why It’s Necessary for Myopia Control
Instead of just looking only at whether a child’s glasses prescription changed, you can also monitor whether the eye itself is getting longer. That gives the doctor another objective measurement of how the child’s myopia is progressing.
